Off-Grid Manager

We have an opening available for an Off-grid Manager in our Cambridge office, to head up our dedicated team selling components for renewable energy systems to provide power wherever a grid connection is not available. Our customers are diverse – we have supplied Antarctic research and logistics stations, beach huts, remote farmhouses, motorhomes and narrowboats – and we have built a reputation for our expertise and our friendly and honest approach to business. We sell some systems directly to retail customers, but an increasing focus is on building business-to-business sales and making and developing relationships with key customers.

You will be working closely with our business development manager and our sales engineer, and we don’t necessarily expect a strong technical background – although a proven ability to grasp concepts quickly will be important. We do expect excellent communication and management skills, an understanding of basic company finance, and strong initiative. We need someone with a vision to grow this important side of our business, and the enthusiasm and skills to make it happen.

The role will be varied - every day will bring a different challenge. One day you may be working on a marketing strategy, or researching new products, the next mucking in with processing and packing orders, or specifying a large off-grid system for a key customer. You will need both to ensure that the fine details of the business are taken care of, whilst also keeping an eye on the bigger picture and looking after the long-term development of the business.
