Software Support & Customer Success Executive

Are you looking to start or develop a career in software support, training and customer success? We are looking for candidates that are looking to make a positive impact and who love talking to people, solving problems, building relationships and providing excellent customer service?

As both a distributor and software supplier we pride ourselves on the support and friendly and helpful service we provide to all our customers. We are rapidly growing our software division that offers industry leading solar and heat pump design tools and are looking for great people to join our team.

Read on to learn more, or see the application pack for further information.

The Role

You will be providing customer support and training for our solar design software, Easy PV. This will include supporting large enterprise customers as well smaller companies who use the software. Mainly this will involve speaking to customers on the phone, dealing with support emails, and running daily training webinars.

You’ll help us meet our support SLAs (like response and resolution times) and collaborate with team members to properly manage customer inquiries and escalate issues when appropriate. You’ll need to manage customer expectations and coordinate with our development team regarding estimated response times for issue resolution.

You’ll help us write software training/support documentation and user guides, making it easier for our users to get the most out of our software solutions. You'll help us implement procedures that will help us support our customers and guarantee customer success.

As you get to know our customers, you'll start to identify opportunities to sell our enterprise solutions. You'll learn to demo our enterprise solutions and move these customers through the sales funnel with the help of our sales team.

We’ll expect you to deal with customer queries and feedback quickly and professionally, putting customers at the heart of everything you do. The role will suit you if you enjoy being busy, speaking to people and building relationships.

You’ll report to our Head of Software Sales and work with a team focused on growing the software side of the business.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for an outgoing individual who prides themselves on providing a first-class customer experience. You'll ideally have demonstrable interest in software, sustainability and renewable energy. Some experience of customer support activities, or building relationships would be an advantage, but a winning way with customers and a willingness to learn also go a long way. You’ll need to be tech-savvy and have the ability to quickly grasp technical information, and explain it clearly. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team, but have a problem-solving and self-led approach during busy periods. Establishing and building relationships is a key part of the role, along with attention to detail and a friendly manner.

Bonus points if you have worked for a tech startup or tech company in a customer support role in the past and have experience with ticketing and CRM systems.

Don’t meet all these requirements? Don’t worry, you might still be the right person for the job. If you have enthusiasm and potential we want to hear from you!

What it offers

If you’re looking for a career that will make a difference, Midsummer Energy is a great place to work. You'll be joining our small (but growing) software team and see the results of your work from day one. Our office and warehouses work side by side, so you’ll be sharing a dynamic, busy site with the rest of the staff. There’s a friendly and informal atmosphere, and a real buzz when things get going.

You will learn a lot on the job, and we’ll bring you up to speed as fast as possible. It's a fast-moving industry so new products, customers and technologies come along all the time - there will always be new things to learn. Our own tools are also evolving rapidly.

This is a full time role based in our offices on the outskirts of Cambridge, with a salary of £24,000-£28,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Long term employees also take home a share of the profits of the company. You’ll get 25 days paid holiday (plus bank holidays), be enrolled in our pension scheme and have personal and professional growth opportunities.

You must be able to work from our Cambridge office, although you will be able to work from home one day per week if you wish to. We can be flexible with start dates.
