Two Million Eight Hundred and Fifty Thousand Steps
RePowering Ukraine
As part of our ongoing RePower Ukraine Project with Photon Energy, we are funding a 36.5kW solar PV/battery system for Slobozhanske Hospital in Kharkiv Oblast. To support this initiative, we are challenging ourselves to run 1900 miles in a month, from 14th October - 14th November. That’s right—whether we are dusting off our running shoes or simply maintaining our regular running routines, we are all in this together.
A Journey of 1900 Miles
Running 1,900 miles is equivalent of travelling from our offices in Cambridge, UK, to Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine. This also translates to a demanding 2.5 marathons every day or 105 laps around an Olympic running track.
Having recently shipped the solar and battery kit to Ukraine, we are raising funds for additional equipment, such as the mounting system, cabling, isolators, and more, which will be sourced from Ukrainian suppliers. Furthermore, these funds will help pay for the installation of the system by local Ukrainian installers, involving them and supporting their businesses.
By providing relatively small PV systems with 30-40kW of battery storage, we can ensure that during power cuts electricity is available to power ICUs, maternity units, monitoring devices, refrigeration units, and other vital equipment.
Two million eight hundred and fifty thousand. The number of steps in 1,900 miles. Each one brings us closer to raising funds for Ukraine.
