Operations Assistant
We're expanding fast. We send dozens of lorry loads of kit out the door daily that will be installed the next day on properties up and down the country.
We need someone to help ensure the operations go smoothly and the shelves are restocked for the next morning so we are ready to start again!
If you're hard working, organised, good at getting things done, thrive in a fast-paced environment and don't mind mucking in doing hard physical labour in the warehouse when it gets hectic, we'd love to hear from you.
About the role
Our Operations, Logistics and Customer Support Specialists work in a fast-paced, varied environment, using logistical expertise, business knowledge and problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality advice and resolutions to customers and courier partners. This critical role sits between multiple internal and external stakeholders, requiring you to be dynamic, quick-thinking, and able to multitask, prioritise, and work well under pressure.
Who we're looking for
If you like variety and enjoy a challenge, this fast-paced role could be for you.
- You will work as part of the wider Midsummer team to ensure efficiency and accuracy on behalf of our customers, and assist them in a timely and professional manner.
- You will have excellent communication skills and a polite and efficient manner so that you can liaise with all stakeholders.
- You will have attention to detail and be meticulous in recording errors and damages.
- You will enjoy problem solving, in a very practical way, being both proactive and reactive and flourish in a role that's never dull.
- You enjoy a dynamic work atmosphere, and have a friendly and easy-going manner with co-workers and customers.
- You're happy to get involved with whatever needs doing, and eager to be part of helping our company grow.
Degree level qualifications in any subject are helpful and welcome, but not essential. If you have qualifications or 2+ years experience in logistics or operations roles, we would also welcome your application.
Bonus points if you have experience in operations, customer service, retail, or warehouse work, but it is far from essential, and recent graduates who want to begin a career in renewables would equally be welcome to apply.
What it offers
You'll be joining a young, dynamic company with positive values that is aiming to position itself as the leading distributor of renewable energy systems in the UK. There’s a friendly and informal atmosphere in the office, and a real buzz when things get busy.
The salary is £28,000 depending on experience.

- EV salary sacrifice scheme
