Midsummer visit to Trumpington Park Primary School
It was back to school for Vicci Danes, John Norman, Muneeba Islam, and David Roman. As part of Midsummer Energy’s community outreach programme, the Midsummer team had the pleasure of visiting Trumpington Park Primary School to deliver a hands-on session on renewable solar energy to Year 6 pupils.

The morning was spent bringing solar power to life, explaining how panels turn sunlight into electricity, how the sun generates heat and light, and how renewable energy will power their future.
The pupils were full of brilliant questions, ideas and curiosity as they explored a set of Longi demo shade optimising panels. The class also learned how battery storage will allow them to store electricity to use in the evening, after they return home from school. The Year 6 pupils were asking: "What happens at night or when it rains?", "Could we have panels on our school?" and “do we use solar panels in space?” (yes we do).

The visit is part of Midsummer’s broader commitment to community education and environmental awareness. By helping schools explore energy solutions, we aim to inspire the next generation of eco-conscious engineers, scientists, and installers.
Huge thanks to Trumpington Park Primary for welcoming us so warmly. It was an inspiring morning and exciting to see such enthusiasm from the next generation. We were delighted to play a small part in sparking their interest in sustainability.
At the end of each session, the class were excited to receive the ever popular Midsummer Doodle Pad, along with caps and pencils from our colleagues at BYD.
