Startup Sales Manager - Dublin based

This a fantastic opportunity to join a startup at the ground level in the Renewables industry. We’re looking for an enthusiastic all-rounder with a passion for business and sustainability. About us

Midsummer Renewables is the newly formed subsidiary of Midsummer Energy Ltd which has been trading in the UK since 2010, and whose primary activity is the wholesale of solar PV, battery storage and EV products to trade customers. Annual turnover there now exceeds £15m with a team of 25 people and still growing. We also have an off-grid retail department and a software division, both currently expanding too.

With the introduction of a generous grant for domestic PV installations in 2018, we have opened a Dublin operation this year, and are looking for the right person to join the team early on and help grow the business from scratch.

The Role

Joining a small team (two others) you will have responsibility for a wide range of activities alongside the main focus on business development, marketing, and sales. Those may include anything from stock management and logistics, to order processing, invoicing customers, managing customer credit, logging receipts and helping with VAT returns.

Initially there will be a lot of calling and arranging to meet new customers and training them on our product range and our labour-saving software. Successful growth depends on building strong relationships with customers, so making connections and ensuring great service are key to the role.

We will offer some hands-on training in our systems at our Cambridge headquarters, and there will be ongoing support from the Cambridge team.

The position offers a starting salary of €29k and will be based at our Dublin premises, with some occasional travel likely to visit customers throughout the rest of the country too.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a friendly and intelligent person who’s environmentally-motivated and an excellent communicator. You’ve a good head for business and figures and a practical approach to things, as well as enthusiasm to make things happen. You need to work well with a small team, but also be comfortable being self-directed and taking on a good deal of responsibility. Prior experience or knowledge of renewables, sales and marketing or working in a small business would be an advantage but are not essential.
