Go West… Midsummer Solar Heavyweights

Held at Thornbury Golf Centre, the event welcomed a mix of installers looking to expand into the commercial solar sector alongside experienced contractors eager to explore the latest innovations, and software solutions shaping the market today. 

The lineup featured some of the industry’s leading commercial solar brands, including AIKO, K2, Easy PV, Solarport, Octopus Energy, and Orkestra, each showcasing technologies and solutions designed to simplify large-scale installations and improve project performance. 

Throughout the morning, attendees had the opportunity to rotate between manufacturers, gaining hands-on experience with new products, mounting systems, PV design software, energy storage solutions, and commercial modelling tools. The format encouraged discussions, practical demonstrations, and direct access to technical expertise from each supplier.

The feedback from installers was overwhelmingly positive, particularly around the opportunity to see integrated commercial solutions in one place and discuss project challenges directly with manufacturers and software providers. Easy PV and Orkestra demonstrations generated strong interest from installers looking to streamline system design, improve modelling accuracy, and scale their commercial offering more efficiently.

Alongside the technical content, the event also delivered valuable networking opportunities, allowing installers, suppliers, and the Midsummer team to strengthen existing relationships and build new connections within the industry.

After a productive morning and relaxed lunch, the atmosphere shifted to the driving range, where attendees and exhibitors took part in a series of friendly golf competitions with prizes for those demonstrating the ability to thwack a golf ball the greatest distance, and runner-up prizes for those who just managed to get the ball off the tee.

Solar Heavyweights provided genuine value through education, supplier access, product insight, and relationship building. Following the success and positive feedback from this year’s event, Solar Heavyweights will be heading north in a couple of months… watch this space.
