December Order Capacity
We are seeing an unprecedented number of orders coming through our website and via phone and email. Things are showing no sign of slowing in the run up to Christmas. There is ever increasing pressure on the courier networks, and we have to operate our warehouse within practical and safe limits to ensure the welfare of our staff.
We have already enacted a 5pm cut-off the day before dispatch for all orders, and are increasingly frequently hitting our physical capacity of how many palletised orders we can fit onto lorries with our courier partners. Unfortunately there is a scarcity of spare lorries and drivers, and there is a finite amount of orders we can pick, pack and dispatch each day whilst ensuring the accuracy and quality of those orders is maintained, and our staff are working within safe limits.
As a result, we may have to call a halt to palletised orders further in advance than 5pm the previous day once we hit those limits. This changes day-to-day depending how many orders we receive, and we are urging all of our valued customers to please place your orders in good time ahead of dispatch, ideally two or three days, to maximise our ability to get them out the door.
We are working around the clock to increase capacity by adding more resources and streamlining our operations, but this can't happen overnight (but the increase in orders has!). Please bear with us during these exceptionally busy times, and work closely with your account handler to get orders in and sorted well in advance.
Thank you for each and every order - we value them hugely. We recognise that this is not an ideal situation, and the last thing we want is to enact these limits. We will revert these changes and get back to normal as soon as is practically possible.
